Description

Rich shea-butter base solid lotion; this formulation is an herbal “tiger balm”. Spread on sore muscles, strains, sprains, and muscle aches. It doesn’t even smell as wretched as most! (I know, praising with faint damns.) It’s VERY pungent in a mentholly, herby sort of way. Like all the goos, a little goes a long way–a 2 oz. jar should coat an adult head to toe for about 2 months. It’s organic, it’s relatively soft; in hot weather it will melt and go liquid. Just stick it in the fridge.

Every Goo Has A Story:

Most of my goo-making is precipitated by a crisis; in this case, the husband got clotheslined by the puppy. She was excited, looped her lead around his feet, and down he went…flat on his back. He’s not a light guy, and can throw out his back on a regular basis; it puts him flat for a few days. I researched tiger balm recipes (the man is allergic to everything), found one I liked, tweaked a bit, and Strains and Sprains was born. And had the husband on his feet in a day instead of three or four.

USES:

The obvious, of course– sprained and sore bits, overstressed muscles, and tension in muscles. I am a driving wuss– I use it regularly to decrease the stress and soreness in my neck muscles when I have to drive long distances. A friend uses it to decrease the intensity of her migraine headaches– she puts it on her temples, and along the muscles in her neck and head that tense up during an attack.
