This traditional full cheek snaffle bit is designed to help prevent the bit from slipping sideways through a horse’s mouth, and it can support lateral control through turns.
The Neue Schule Turtle Top™ Flex™ Loose Ring Snaffle Bit has a 16mm double-jointed Salox® Gold mouth and 70mm stainless steel rings. This loose ring bit has Neue Schule’s uncomplicated tried-and-trusted cheek. No matter what the rein tension, the mouthpiece alignment to the horse’s mouth remains unchanged.
This bit features the NS Turtle Top mouth design, which offers enhanced bit stability through optimized alignment of the mouthpiece surfaces to the horse’s tongue and palate. Combined with the NS Flex design, it can help achieve a comfortable and quiet mouth. The mouthpiece stays centered and arched over the tongue at all times and helps prevent sideways tongue evasions.
The flattened underside of the FlexZ cannons, with their anatomy-inspired recesses, are held parallel to the tongue. The NS Flex design is perfectly suited to the overactive, busy mouth that chomps and chews on the bit. Comfortable for the horse, Flex puts the focus of the inattentive mouth back onto the rein aids to achieve a soft consistent contact.
Coronet Dr. Bristol Round Ring Eggbutt Snaffle Bit, 5″
Coronet products are made of the finest metals and materials and are held to the highest standards of quality control. Every piece is polished and inspected before leaving the factory. Close attention is paid to detail to make sure that all items will pass the criteria for breed and disciple regulations where appropriate. Gentle rings. Angled Dr. Bristol applies tongue pressure when needed.
With a stainless steel mouthpiece, this bit is durable, easy to clean, tasteless and does not rust. The addition of a copper link creates warmth and encourages salivation for a soft mouth. This French link sliding gag applies pressure to the horse’s poll as the bit acts as a lever.
The full cheek snaffle has narrow arms which project above and below the rings, preventing the mouthpiece from sliding in the horses mouth and to emphasize the tuning aid. The single joint applies a nut cracker action which applies pressure to the tongue, the bars of the mouth and the horse’s palate.
Curved bit to reduce the “nutcracker” action and to alleviate pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth. Prevents contact with the roof of the horses mouth. Allows for effective communication between horse and rider whilst encouraging relaxation and salivation. Dee ring compromises between an eggbutt and a full cheek snaffle, preventing pinching at the corners of the mouth and without the dangers posed by the arms of a full cheek snaffle. Mild bit designed to allow the rider to have an independent control of each side of the mouth, preferable to horses with less palate clearance.
Chifney Straight Mouth Bit – Brass Attaches to the halter. Used for more control when training horses. This anti-rearing bit is made of stainless steel and is therefore designed never to bend, rust or break. It has a straight un-ported mouthpiece which makes it more suitable for youngsters and horses with sensitive mouths.
Korsteel Oval Link/Lozenge Loose Ring Snaffle Bit, 5.5″
Thick, kind, double-jointed Oval Mouth Loose Ring with curved bars, eliminates “nutcracker” tongue pinching, and encourages the horse’s chewing motion.
The Baucher French Link bit is a specialized, stable training bit featuring a double-jointed, center-linked mouthpiece (French link) for even, mild pressure across the tongue and bars. It is recognized by its unique upper cheek piece, that attaches directly to the bridle, reducing movement and offering slight poll pressure, which helps encourage a lower, more consistent, and relaxed frame.
The Hollow Mouth Eggbutt Snaffle Bit provides a thick mouth, but without the weight that would otherwise be provided by a solid, thick mouth. The cheeks provide sideways stability in the horse’s mouth.
