The MB 33 is the mildest Myler mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ยฝ” high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands.

The MB 33WL (wide low) mouthpiece was made specifically to meet the requirements of the USEF dressage rules, making this the only USEF dressage legal Level 3 mouthpiece. The port is 29mm high and generously wide, providing ample room for the tongue. Because the port is lower than the standard MB 33, the MB 33WL does not offer quite as much tongue relief but it is by far the most tongue relief available in a dressage legal mouthpiece.

The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1″ high, and tilted forward at a 45ยบ angle, allowing just enough room for the horseโs tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip, but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt.

Myler HBT Shank with Low Port Comfort Snaffle MB 04, 5″
Myler Stainless Steel 5″ HBT Shank, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2 The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure; however, it has a small (ยผ”) port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
training bit designed for starting horses, refining direct rein cues, or maintaining steady contact, the offset Dee rings apply gentle pressure to the opposite cheek to help guide flexion and improve lateral response. Well-balanced and beginner-friendly, this snaffle offers dependable performance in the early stages of Western training.

With a stainless steel mouthpiece, this bit is durable, easy to clean, tasteless and does not rust.ย The addition of a copper link creates warmth and encourages salivation for a soft mouth.ย This French link sliding gag applies pressure to the horse’s poll as the bit acts as a lever.
The full cheek snaffle has narrow arms which project above and below the rings, preventing the mouthpiece from sliding in the horses mouth and to emphasize the tuning aid. The single joint applies a nut cracker action which applies pressure to the tongue, the bars of the mouth and the horse’s palate.
Curved bit to reduce the “nutcracker” action and to alleviate pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth. Prevents contact with the roof of the horses mouth. Allows for effective communication between horse and rider whilst encouraging relaxation and salivation. Dee ring compromises between an eggbutt and a full cheek snaffle, preventing pinching at the corners of the mouth and without the dangers posed by the arms of a full cheek snaffle. Mild bit designed to allow the rider to have an independent control of each side of the mouth, preferable to horses with less palate clearance.
