The ocean is a natural reservoir for micro-nutrients, which are a food source for the nutrient rich Kelp. Seaweed has stood the test of countless centuries. If horses are near the ocean, they have been known to wade in to reach seaweed for the many beneficial nutrients it provides.
Ocean-K provides micronutrients from seaweed. The source of Ocean-K contains no fillers, binders, preservatives, added chemicals, artificial flavorings or colorings – just all-natural, concentrated ocean herbs.
Prominent among the 46 minerals in Kelp are Iodine, Salt, Iron, Potassium, Phosphorus and Calcium. Of the 11 vitamins, the highest levels are of Vitamin A, D, E, K and Niacin. Due to Kelp’s high levels of natural Iodine, it supports thyroid hormones, and therefore metabolism and energy levels.
Foods grown inland are often borderline to deficient in Iodine, which can be compromising to equine thyroid function. Some foods and environmental toxins further increase the need for supplemental Iodine.
