The Rhino® Heavyweight Wug with Vari-Layer® has a high-cut neck design. This cut provides a snug fit and eliminates wither pressure; with the V-front closure, it also provides your horse with the freedom to eat comfortably from the ground. The Wug cut includes unique Leg Arches™, which allow the blanket to wrap closely to your horse’s belly without interfering with your horse’s natural movements.

This heavyweight horse blanket features unique Rhino Barrier technology for guaranteed waterproof, breathable coverage and the revolutionary Vari-Layer insulating system for increased warmth with less weight for your horse to carry.

The Barrier system uses a 1,000 denier polypropylene outer layer to protect the waterproof and breathable layer just underneath. Polypropylene is a stronger alternative to the widely used polyester turnout material, but if it is compromised, the waterproof layer underneath continues to keep your horse dry.

Vari-Layer technology uses additional layers of thermobonded fiberfill across your horse’s back and hips, where most of the heat loss is typically experienced.  With the fill layered in the key areas, the ultimate in heat retention and comfort is achieved with less weight. This fiber placement also allows the blanket to wrap closely around your horse, trapping heat. Lastly, the effect of gravity compression on the blanket fill is lessened, and the blanket stays fuller longer.

The combined design elements of a tail strap and back darts on this blanket prevent the shifting of the blanket while the horse is moving and provide a safe and comfortable fit that eliminates the need for leg straps.
