The full cheek snaffle has narrow arms which project above and below the rings, preventing the mouthpiece from sliding in the horses mouth and to emphasize the tuning aid. The flat lozenge center piece is set at a slight angle, thereby causing a sharper, more pronounced pressure on the tongue.
